Present positions: 

 1) Saint Martin's College, Lacey, WA.   Dean, Business and Economics, and Associate Professor of economics, management and organization.

 2) Principal, Wallace & Associates (Consultants in organic business systems)

 3) Board member, Grays Harbor Public Development Authority (Satsop Development Park)

Previous experience:

Retired as Chief Economist for Boeing Commercial Airplanes in February 1992 after 20 years of varied experience in economic analysis and forecasting.  Served on task force to form and implement TQM and reengineering programs and to develop downsizing strategies that minimize layoffs.

Served as management and economic consultant -10 years.  Extended service in Great Britain, Thailand, Brazil, Malaysia, Indonesia and Nigeria.  Spent shorter service periods in Uruguay, Honduras, Japan, Jordan, Israel, and South Vietnam.  Helped reorganize public utilities in the United States.  Developed compensation plans tied to corporate performance.   Also served 16 months military duty in Korea and Japan.

Conducted many feasibility studies on capital investment projects in highways, ports, and airports and worked on management reorganizations and compensation systems in steel, airline, ports, and public utilities in the US and abroad.  

Education:

Ph.D., University of Washington, 1963  (Dissertation:  Cultural Values and Economic Development, A Case Study of Japan).  MBA, University of Washington, 1957.  BBA University of Puget Sound, 1952 - major in business, minors in history and economics.
