Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology ("MAC") Genealogy Trips to England
This house, in Dalgarno Gardens in London, was the last home I lived in before leaving England at the age of five. It provided a tremendous sense of roots to revisit many of these spots. We also found a great deal of exciting genealogical information and renewed relationships with my cousins Sally & Alan and Michael and Kathryn. Much of our trip to England was spent in rainy grave yards. Here is Merry, being drowned along with Joan, one of our British friends. They're standing next to the grave of my grandfather, George Lowman, in the beautiful village of Sherborne. We visited 70 cities or town in just two weeks and drove over a thousand miles of British streets and lanes -- all on the left side (very scary!). We also visited dozens of quaint village churches like this one to the right with the tiny, arched door. This church was in Beaminster, another ancestral home. It was all a lot of fun. Here I am wading in the River Ribble near Preston (to the north of England). This spot had religious significance in that the first LDS baptisms in England took place at this spot. This trip was one of the best of our lives and we will definitely return to the beautiful countries of the United Kingdom.
