The Ellis Family

Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology ("MAC")

Family History/Genealogy

Family history is one of our major hobbies and interests in life. We have many of our lines researched back to the 1500s.  We are currently writing family histories of many of these great ancestors.

In addition to our own research, we have volunteered to "adopt" the market town of Crewkerne, Somerset, in England. Officially, we are called the "Online Parish Clerks" and look up ancestral information for interested family researchers who have ancestors from Crewkerne. We are also leading a team of people who are transcribing the 50,000 or so baptism, marriage, or burials that have occured in the church records of Crewkerne. We have created a website of those transcriptions, which can be seen at www.CrewkerneOPC.com.

In addition to transcribing the Crewkerne records. We are also transcribing as a part of a huge project to transcribe the millions of films currently in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. For more information on that project, visit www.FamilySearchIndexing.org and consider joining as a volunteer. There are currently 100,000 volunteers but the project can always use more volunteers.

Finally, we have also volunteered to serve as consultants (in essence, tech support) for the new FamilySearch.org website provided by the LDS Church.  The new website, currently being issued in a "rolling release," will soon replace the existing website at www.FamilSearch.org.  We will be part of a team that offers Internet telephone and email support as it is released to new users around the country.
