Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology ("MAC")
Our second oldest son, Steve G. Ellis, was born in Pullman, Washington, while we were working on my PhD degree at Washington State Univ. He was such a strong and alert little baby that he was lifting his head and looking around while still in the hospital nursery. I playfully nick-named him "Spike." He was one who immediately wanted to be a part of living and life, a characteristic he still demonstrates in everything he does. In this, one of our favorite pictures of him, little Steven dressed up as Superman for Halloween. He is about 5 in the photo. We were living in Stillwater, Oklahoma, by this time. Doesn't he look thrilled? Steve served an LDS mission to Belgium and northern France in 1995 through 1996. In fact, he was in Boulonge-sur-mer on the English Channel while we were in Le Havre, and we were able to visit him once or twice (see "French Sabbatical"). At the end of his mission at Christmas time, 1996. we were able to return to France to pick him up and tour some of the cities in which he had worked in France and Belgium and visit Paris and Le Havre with both him and his older brother, Devon (see "We Return").
Steve and April worked for a while as night staff at the Firs Retirement Center in Olympia until April became pregnant. More recently, he has earned credentials as an RN and works in the E.R. at St. Peter's Hospital in Lacey, WA. His major goal is to have skills that he can use to help people who might otherwise have limited access to medical resources. They now have five adorable children. Back to the Ellis Family page |
