Study of commonly used industrial processes, quality control, manufacturing materials and numerical control.  Design and manufacture of simple artifacts.  Introduces students to various processes available for producing engineering artifacts from raw material.  Course also covers material selection and the production process for an application, along with the fundamentals of statistical quality control.  Students will be required to plan the production process and to design tooling for work holding and for sheet metal work.  Laboratory must be taken concurrently.  Prerequisite: GE 206
