Chapter 4 H.W.

Application of fluid mechanics and dynamics to flight.  Aircraft lift, drag, propulsion, range, endurance, rate of climb, takeoff, landing, stability and control are discussed.  Students learn to apply principles of dynamics and fluid mechanics to traditional flight problems of aircraft, such as its range, rate of climb, stability and controllability.  Emphasis will be on developing methods for use in design.  Students will demonstrate their ability to use these methods through team design problems.  Safety of the flight is emphasized.  Application to aircraft design.  Prerequisites: GE 206 and ME 312.
