Here you'll find information about how to write your article for class

The critical article analysis will familiarize you with library business resources.  There are a number of computer magazines that cover technology issues as well as numerous Internet sites.  Select an article addressing a computer technology issue, such as new product information, hardware, software, etc.  You are to utilize computer concepts and terms in your analysis.  Your audience is your fellow classmates who have not read this article.  You are to determine, identify and state the article’s strengths and weaknesses.  To obtain maximum credit, the elements listed below must be addressed in your review.  Do not restate the article-analyze it.

Before plunging into your analysis, provide an introductory paragraph that introduces the reader to your paper.  This paragraph should give the author and title of your article.  Somewhere in that first paragraph (perhaps your last sentence), provide a sentence that presents your overall opinion of the article (this sentence is often called a thesis).  The remainder of your paper will be defending this overall impression.  Following your introductory paragraph, your paper should be organized in the following way (with information presented in this order):

Please structure your critical analysis along the following outline:

1.  What is the article’s relevance to the course?                                    (How or why is the article relevant?)

2.  Is the author’s presentation of the article logical?
Is the author convincing you that he or she is right?
Is the author’s conclusion logical?  Has the author persuaded you to believe what he believes?  What are the strengths and weaknesses of the article?

3.  Do you agree or disagree with the author?  Why?

4.  Is there evidence that the author has supporting documentation for or against the position taken by the author?  If so, what is that evidence?
If there is not supporting documentation to the article, do you think there should be?  Why?

5.  Format and structure:

· The article will be in essay form.

· The use of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation is a must.

· The article will be 2 1/2 to 3 pages in length, typed, double space, one-inch margins, point size no bigger than 12.

·Use a cover sheet with your name, the title of the article, name of class, instructor name and date.

·Attach a copy of the article.
