I am a senior at Saint Martin's College majoring in Biology and I graduate in December 2004. I play soccer for the Saint Martin's College Soccer Club. I would like to find a job after I graduate with a career in Forensic Science or if that doesn't work out then working in a zoo with monkeys! I am excited to go to Costa Rica because of the experience and knowledge I can gain from another culture.

I am a senior pre-med major at Saint Martin's College. I am also a member of the SMC Fastpitch team. Next year, after graduating I plan on taking the MCAT, after which I will travel to New Zealand for a year  to play fastpitch. I am excited for this adventure in Costa Rica, and the opportunity to experience such a different habitat from my own. I hope that every day will bring new experiences and people we can learn from. I am thankful that Professor Gomez-Beloz took the time to organize this trip for us. I think he is doing a huge service for those of us who are going.

I currently graduated this spring from Saint Martin's with a BS in Biology. I will be attending the D.P.T. program at E.W.U. next fall. I am very excited to study under the Instituto Monteverde, while traveling all around Costa Rica. I feel being able to experience lifestyles and cultures different from my own will help me to better define my own culture.

Chas

Charles "Chas"
I am a senior, majoring in Pre-med and Psychology (minoring in Chemistry).  I am planning to apply to medical school in 2006 but that is not until after I return from a year long trip to Tanzania.  In Tanzania, I hope to volunteer in the community's medical clinic as well as, help teach English to the orphans that are living in a monastery.  I am very grateful of SMC and the Monteverde Instituto for providing students, like myself, an opportunity to venture outside the box by traveling and experiencing a different way of living.

I'm a Pre-Med student at St Martin's, Majoring in Biology.  I plan to graduate next spring then spend a year going to school in London, England, where I hope to volunteer at a medical clinic there and also backpack and explore Europe.  This trip to Costa Rica will be my first experience being outside of the United States.  I am very excited and privileged  to be a part of a group of peers that are this intelligent and genuine.

I have been dreaming about this trip for at least three years--at least a year before coming to Saint Martin's College in 2002.  I am grateful to SMC (Financial Aid, Registrar, Office of International Programs, Finance, etc.) and the Instituto Monteverde for taking care of the administrative part.  I am also indebted to the students on this expedition who have the courage, open-mindedness, and vision to undertake such an endeavor.  And to all those who couldn't make it, take a look around and visit our virtual Costa Rica.

I am providing Web site support to the Costa Rica team from campus.  Although I'm not taking the trip, I'm excited about following the group's progress through the field logs, photos, and discussions on this site--participating virtually and vicariously.  I appreciate having the opportunity to work with such an engaged, dynamic team.
