From the BMFA    

    students are to design and build a radio controlled, payload carrying aircraft using a specified .46 cu. In. glow ignition engine. They are to predict the maximum payload their aircraft is capable of lifting when taking off from a 61Metre take-off strip and they are to write a technical report describing their aircraft's design and construction together with design drawings. They then have to give a verbal presentation on their aircraft and finally give a flight demonstration. The winners are the team who are judged to have scored the highest aggregate score for all aspects of the competition.
