October 19, 2005: . . .

Hullo,

Last night was nice.  Small, but nice.  Everyday is an awesome song!  We sang that one.  The scripture reading: Luke 10:1-9.  I really enjoy the fire going in the background.  It gets me every time.  Afterwards, Curtis, Robbie and I played some guitar and Curtis taught us some Chris Tomlin that we'll be doing soon.

So, the Bucket website has been pretty slow moving lately--not really the vision I had of it.  It works right now, but it could be better.  What would people think if there was a message board on this site? . . .  e-Mail me if you think it would be a good or bad idea?  :)

God bless,

Brian

October 5, 2005: . . .

Hello there!

Well, sad, sad news. . . .  I haven't posted in here for a long time!  :)  Some people were asking me to update this, so I felt it was proper to do so.  I guess this just reiterates that I'm looking for someone who could take this portion of the Bucket website up.

Last night was a good night for the Bucket, I'd say--though I admit to having a bias.  One person put it this way:

"It was a very encouraging night."

That's exactly Bucket is going for.  When people raised their hands to the question of whether or not homework was kicking their rear-end, I was glad to know that we're all in this together.  Sometimes things just become stressful in life.  It's nice to know there's a small part of the week where the feeling of encouragement can grow and illuminate our souls . . . like the fire in the gas fire-place that we finally figured out how to turn on.  It was really nice to have the soft flames as the backdrop for the evening.  Looking around during prayer, I saw a number of people doing as I was: simply enjoying the soft glow.

Last night's line up:

In the Secret

Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord

Famous One

All in All

We Fall Down

Meet With Me

Worlds Apart

Breathe

Everything

Awesome God

Every Move I Make

Lord, I Lift Your Name On High

The last song was a good representation of the night as a whole.  Jen started out on the Ukulele, keeping a fast, upbeat rhythm.  I came in on the Mandolin after that.  A few measures later Robbie and Nick came in on guitar.  Brother Luke rocked out on the djembe the entire time.  It was, as they say, "good times".

On another note, Brother Luke's artwork from a few Buckets ago are going to be posted online quite soon.  Check back in a few days!

God bless you all and see you next Tuesday at eight in the Burton Addition . . . the fire will be waiting. . . .

Photos, photos!  Click here for your photos!

Hello!

Wow!  That's all I can say!  That's all a lot of us can say!  The fist Bucket far surpassed any dreams that the 'God-Squad'--the name of the musicians and people that help make Bucket happen each week--had!  We are currently guessing that fifty or so people were crammed in the fourth floor of Baran Hall.  If anyone has a head-count, don't hesitate to let us know!  The energy in the room was amazing and the Spirit was moving in some amazing ways!

We hope to continue this and keep Bucket going just as strong all year long!  A HUGE THANK YOU!!! to all of you who came and all of you who made August 30, 2005 go down in Bucket History!--and for those of you thinking I'm joking, just wait until you see the finished site and see a section called, 'Bucket History'.  Should be good.

So, that's the news.  Once I'm calmed down from how excited I am over how Bucket went, I'll work some more on the site . . . and maybe have something more intelligent to add to this front page.  But for now. . . .

God bless,

Brian Suda

PS: I still can't get over the fact that I broke a string on the VERY FIRST SONG!  One more thank you for inspiring me to KEEP PL[R?}AYING!

August 29, 2005: . . .

Hello!

Welcome to the Bucket Website!

This website is currently a work in progress.  My dream is that it will get better and better as a source of keeping people up-to-date on what Bucket is doing and striving for.  This site will also be a source for musicians to find the music that we perform at Bucket.  The paper that has kept Bucket going for years is now all scanned as PDF files that are accessible by you all.

But first, a little about what Bucket is!--

Every Tuesday night at eight o'clock, all of the Saint Martin's family are invited to join in Praise and Worship in a designated place.  This year we're trying to determine that place, but for the fist Bucket--Tuesday August 30--it will be held in the fourth floor lounge of Baran Hall.  This Campus Ministry Tradition has been valued by the community for a number of years and now it's your turn to be a part!  We sing Christ-centered songs and read a passage from the Bible followed by a brief time for outspoken and private prayer.  We welcome people from all religious or non-religious backgrounds and would love to have you join us!

In the future, what I would like to do is add short biographies of who has been involved with Bucket through the years, as well as talk about some of the history of the Bucket and some of the projects and special events that have occurred.

So, that all being said, I hope you be patient with me as I continue to update this website and please, please, please, check back often and see what's new!

God bless,

Brian Suda
