This policy was created for the benefit of students, parents, guardians, and teachers.  Before continuing the educational exploration of  this website, it is mandatory that this policy is read, printed out, signed by all participants, and turned into the teacher. Accommodations will be made for those who require educational assistance or accessibility to technology, provided that is related to class work or required by the Ms. Hamilton.

 

 

Equity:  The materials used throughout this website are selected and designed to appeal to both girls and boys.

 

Adapting:  Mobility, Visual, and Learning disabilities will be complemented with the following, but not limited to:  alternatives to controlling the mouse and keyboard; alternatives in the classroom layout; text reading and magnifying screen software; group and individual educational assistances; Webpage alt tap options for ease on visual strain.

 

Copyright Law:  Fair Use guidelines allow for duplications for the purpose of teaching, learning, and research.  Guidelines are as follows:  for the purpose of class work, appropriate nature of work, limited amount to be copied (review the teacher's handouts on the limitation standards), and impact on commercial value (refer to the statement of understanding in the compact).  If copywriting is suspected by the teacher, Ms. Hamilton has the permission, accompanied by a third party, to investigate the issue using any mode available.  If copywriting is found, the student will receive a zero for the assignment and no points will be recovered.

Inappropriate Content:  Lesson appropriate internet sites will be void of sexually oriented materials, physical, verbal, and financial harassments, violence and hatred materials and are blocked with filters and will not be accessible to the students while viewing the online class assignments.  Any activity on inappropriate sites such as those listed above but not limited to them, will be reported to the teacher by internet eyeballs.  If caught or found viewing sites as these, the student will automatically lose twenty points for the lesson and will dually loose internet privileges for the remainder of the week, but will continue working the lesson with their current or newly assigned partner.  All students will be closely monitored during lesson activity, supervised on how to avoid these sites, and coached on the safety rules of using the internet.  Any web site a student wishes to visit, other than what is provided in the lessons, will need verbal permission by Ms. Hamilton.  Under no circumstances, misusing the internet will have consequences.

 

Teacher's Role in the Design Process:  Both the teacher and the students will learn by exploration; students will have the freedom to construct their own knowledge; project quality will be evaluated by the individual's educational abilities; the teacher will understand the importance of student's work and pride in their products; the teacher will set realistic classroom goals; flexibility and spontaneity will be provided for by the teacher, for the benefit of the entire class when appropriate.
