Introduction:  Imagine weightlessness, pure darkness, stars, and moons.  Now imagine you are floating up in space looking down on Earth.  What would that feel like to you?  Would you want to go to space?  Is yes, let's go and do some research on people and space missions.

If you answered no, why not?  What if you were paid to do research?  Would that change your mind?  What if you could discover something that no one else knew about?  Give it a try and see how interesting space exploration can be!

Tasks

Enceladus

As "Space Journalists", you will search the internet using the links I have provided on the resource page to write an interesting news article about a space exploration event.  You will need to find credible details, pictures, and you must give credit to anything you found on the internet.

You must work alone, but you can share information with your classmates.  Make sure you pick a topic you are really interested in because you will have an easier time writing a newspaper article about something you like.  Have fun with this assignment and when we are all done with this unit, we are going to publish our own "Space News" paper!

Conclusion

How was your trip?  Did you enjoy space?  I hope you learned a lot about space exploration and about the brave men and women who put their lives at risks so we can find out more information about space.  Just remember that you don't have to be an astronaut to work in the space industry.  Companies like NASA need engineers to build the space shuttles, mathematicians to calculate distances the space shuttle needs to go, and support people to make sure the operation is successful.  So if you are interested in space, check out the NASA website to find out what opportunities are out in SPACE for you!

Good work on your articles, we will send them to the printer today!
