FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions!

When does Residence Hall Council meet?

We meet every Wednesday in the Spangler Hall Conference Room at 9:00 at night.  Our meetings don't generally last more than 30 minutes, but if a really big issue comes up, the meeting may run longer.

What do I have to do in order to be a part of Residence Hall Council?

Being a part of Residence Hall Council is unbelievably easy...all you have to do is live in the Saint Martin's University Housing - that means our three on-campus residence halls, along with any off-campus housing locations, such as hotels, that the University has contracts for.  Basically, if you pay for your housing by paying SUM, you are automatically a member of RHC.

What do I have to do in order to have my voice heard?

Right now, all you have to do is show up at the meeting.  We don't have representatives...every person who shows up at the meeting, assuming they are a member of RHC (see above), gets a vote (except for our President, except in the event of a tie).  Come to the meetings, and let us know what you think.  It doesn't even have to be something that you want to have us vote on.  While we do have money to spend, and love to vote on things, we are also an outlet for students to let us know what they would like to see change, both short and long term.

Is there any way to let RHC know something anonymously?

Yes, there most certainly is.  In the list of links near the top of this page, there is a "Comment Anonymously" link.  Click on it, and it will take you to a form that will allow you to let us know what you think, without having to leave any information that you don't want to.  You are also more than welcome to talk to any of the Board members, and tell them that you want it to be kept confidential.  You can also send an email to RHC@stmartin.edu, and just start the email off by saying that you want it kept confidential.  It is best to contact us in person or by email, that way we can follow up, and either make sure the problem was solved to your satisfaction, or to get more information so we know how to follow up.
